In Conversation: Pierre Jean Gonzalez

Pierre shares his thoughts on, and goals for, creating more opportunities for diversity and inclusion in the performing arts, both in front of and behind the camera.

Pierre Jean Gonzalez, who stars as Alexander Hamilton in the national tour of the award-winning musical Hamilton currently at The Kennedy Center, is a stage and film actor, director and producer and a leading advocate for the Latinx and LGBTQ+ communities. In this special appearance at Howard County Library System's Central Branch, he shares his thoughts on, and goals for, creating more opportunities for diversity and inclusion in the performing arts, both in front of and behind the camera. Pierre also shares his journey as an Afro-Latinx Queer man and his experience in founding DominiRican Productions with his fiancé, fellow actor Cedric Leiba Jr, and how they hope to inspire performing artists and entrepreneurs. At the request of the artist, face masks are encouraged but not required.
