Guide to Indigenous Maryland

Call for Community Submissions

Help Maryland’s public libraries develop a new educational app and website to teach Marylanders about local Native American and Indigenous heritage. A project of Maryland State Library's Maryland Libraries Together initiative, Guide to Indigenous Maryland will be an educational tool for individual educational use, library programming, and community engagement, with the goal of enriching the general population's understanding and appreciation of local Native American and Indigenous heritage. The project aims to provide a balanced representation of all of Maryland's counties and regions with the sites and stories that are featured.

Submissions will be evaluated by the project curatorial team for inclusion in the app and website. Examples of possible content submissions: historical sites important locations related to the lives of Native American and Indigenous tribal nations and leaders contemporary sites with significance to tribal nations/communities
